We have devised a fabulously indulgent approach to help you put together your own design schemes, with a series of short courses and workshops. These are specifically tailored to guide you through all the essential stages of interior design
During these short courses and workshops you will have the opportunity to discuss your ideas, and be encouraged to use your own design skills, to achieve a professional finish to your home.
Better still, you will enjoy some of the finest organic foods and superb wines, starting with fresh coffee and pastries in the morning and finishing with afternoon tea, home-made cakes and biscuits.
What is the purpose of these courses and workshops?
The two-day intensive and three-day courses on how to be your own interior designer cover the basic aspects of interior design, giving you the confidence to create a professional design that is well-planned, incorporating a careful balance between function and harmony, that flows effortlessly with the rest of your home.
There are further one day interior workshops that complement these short courses, including:
• Soft furnishings & window treatments
• Designing with colour
• Dressing your home to sell
How are you going to do it?
You will be given guidance on how to design, with hands-on exercises and presentations, supported by fact sheets. Topics to be covered include:
• Interior styles
• Understanding space and how people use it
• Use of colour, pattern and texture
• How light (natural and artificial) can transform a room
• Surveying a room and translating this to plans and elevations
• Planning furniture layouts and designing a lighting overlay
• Developing budgets and costing schemes
• Creating mood boards and/or sample boards
